Hardrace Volvo P1 Uprated Front Lower Wishbones

Refresh and strengthen the front suspension of your Volvo P1 with the Hardrace Uprated Front Lower Control Arm Wishbones. Supplied as a complete left and right pair, these heavy-duty lower arms replace the original wishbones while adding Hardrace's uprated hardened-rubber bushes for improved steering precision, durability and chassis control.

The front lower wishbones play a major role in locating the wheel under braking, acceleration and cornering. As the original rubber bushes age they can soften, split and allow increasing amounts of unwanted suspension movement, resulting in vague steering, inconsistent alignment and reduced front-end confidence.

Rather than pressing replacement bushes into ageing original arms, the Hardrace kit allows the complete wishbone assemblies to be replaced in one go.

Manufactured from hardened steel, the arms are designed for increased strength and durability while retaining direct OE-style fitment. They are supplied pre-fitted with Hardrace's hardened rubber bushes, providing firmer suspension control than worn factory rubber without the additional noise, vibration and harshness sometimes associated with very stiff polyurethane or solid-jointed setups.

Hardrace also applies an anti-corrosion coating to help protect the arms against road grime, moisture and year-round UK conditions.

This makes them an excellent choice for everything from a standard road car needing a comprehensive front suspension refresh through to modified C30, S40, V50 and C70 builds running lowering springs, coilovers, uprated anti-roll bars, performance tyres or increased power.

Optional reinforced ball joints can also be added when ordering, allowing the arms and ball joints to be renewed together.

Ball Joint Selection

Volvo P1 models were produced with two different front ball-joint taper sizes. If adding reinforced ball joints, check the last six digits of the vehicle chassis/VIN number before ordering.

Volvo C30

• Up to chassis 000260 – 18mm ball joint
• Chassis 000261 onwards – 21mm ball joint

Volvo S40

• Up to chassis 209290 – 18mm ball joint
• Chassis 209291 onwards – 21mm ball joint

Volvo V50

Installation

The arms are designed as direct replacements for the original lower control arms.

A professional four-wheel alignment is recommended after installation, particularly on cars that are lowered or already fitted with other suspension geometry upgrades.
