Designed for performance suspension setups, these extended tie rod ends help return the steering linkage to a more suitable operating angle after lowering, reducing unwanted bump steer and providing more consistent steering response.

Lowering a Volvo C30, S40, V50 or C70 changes more than just ride height. As the suspension arms and steering linkage move away from their original geometry, the relationship between suspension travel and toe can also change. This can result in the car steering or changing direction slightly as the suspension moves over bumps – commonly referred to as bump steer.

The extended design helps correct this geometry on lowered vehicles. Manufactured from high-strength alloy steel and supplied as a matched pair, the tie rod ends are designed as a direct bolt-on performance replacement using the existing steering components.

These are particularly useful when combining lowering springs or coilovers with roll-centre correction ball joints / roll-centre adjusters. On heavily corrected setups, the original Volvo tie rod ends may need to be wound significantly outwards to achieve the required toe setting. Extended tie rod ends provide additional usable thread engagement, allowing the front alignment to be set correctly without compromising adjustment range.

The result is a better-engineered front suspension setup with more predictable steering behaviour, improved feedback and the adjustment range required for properly aligned lowered cars.

For the best results, we strongly recommend carrying out a full wheel alignment after installation.
