Reducing intake temperatures is particularly important on the turbocharged Volvo 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine. As boost and engine load increase, so does charge-air temperature. A more efficient intercooler helps control heat soak and provides the engine with a cooler, denser intake charge – making this an excellent supporting upgrade for remapped cars, upgraded turbo setups and enthusiast-driven T5s.

AIRTEC designed the intercooler to mount to the lower radiator cradle, rather than loading additional weight directly onto the standard radiator mounts. The kit retains straightforward installation while providing a significantly larger cooling solution, and is supplied with the required mounting brackets, fixtures and fittings.

The performance difference is backed up by AIRTEC's own testing. The standard C30 intercooler produced outlet temperatures of 57°C and 59°C, while the AIRTEC intercooler recorded outlet temperatures between 20°C and 24°C across three test runs under AIRTEC's stated test conditions.

With a 325mm × 165mm × 90mm core and approximately 4.8-litre capacity, this is a serious cooling upgrade for standard and modified Volvo T5s where consistent charge temperatures matter.
